One of my earliest memories is being lulled to sleep by my Mum (a professional Soprano) as she sung lullabies in a bid to get me to finally pipe down for the day!

I began piano and voice lessons aged 4 and when my parents saw an ad in a local newspaper, titled “Voice Trials for Westminster Cathedral Choir”, they decided to throw my hat in the ring, not really expecting anything to come of it. I set about learning a “challenging” song and we all went up to Westminster Cathedral for the day-long assessment, excited and scared in equal measure. Thankfully the day was a great success and I was offered a place there and then.
My time at Westminster was incredible - one of the best musical educations you can get. I became a principal soloist for performances in the cathedral, around the UK and on tour overseas. Highlights included singing for the Queen, Charles & Diana, the Duchess of Kent and Pope John Paul II. We also recorded multiple albums and several productions for TV and radio. I feel very privileged.
Following this, I was awarded a music scholarship to The Oratory School where I expanded my musical interests and repertoire to include jazz, rock and pop. I started writing and performing songs and music and then took up a place at Kingston University on a newly created Music/Sound Recording course. It was here that I taught my first singing lesson and realised how much I enjoyed giving other people the benefit of my experience and seeing them go on their own musical journey.
Having lived and worked in London for many years, my fiancé and I moved to lovely Winchester in Hampshire, where I continue to teach and coach singing. I also take part in concerts and gigs with friends and family (my brother is a renowned West End artist and jazz singer) and I am actively developing “Singing for Joy” as I think we could all do with more music and joy in our lives!
